Ocean University of Sri Lanka Delegation Visits SMTI Ship Simulator Complex

The Southern Maritime Training Institute (SMTI) was pleased to welcome a distinguished delegation from the Ocean University of Sri Lanka (OCUSL) to the SMTI Ship Simulator Complex on 4 June 2026.

The visit provided the delegation with an opportunity to gain practical exposure to SMTI’s advanced maritime simulation facilities and to observe the application of simulator-based training in modern maritime education. The programme also facilitated valuable discussions and knowledge sharing on industry requirements, practical training methodologies, and the development of maritime professionals.

The visiting delegation comprised:

SMTI greatly appreciated the opportunity to host the OCUSL delegation and engage in meaningful discussions on strengthening cooperation between academia and the maritime industry.

The visit marks an important step towards establishing a strong and long-term collaboration between OCUSL and SMTI, with a shared objective of contributing to the advancement of maritime education, practical training, and professional development in Sri Lanka.
