Advanced Training for Service on Ships Subject to The IGF Code

The overall aim of the course is to provide training to meet the minimum mandatory requirements for training and certification of Masters, Deck Officers, Engineer Officers and all personnel with immediate responsibility for the care and use of fuels and fuel systems on ships subject to the IGF Code, as per Regulation A-V/3 and Section A-V/3-2 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), 1978, as amended.

Intake Limitations

Maximum 24 students per course.

Academic Faculty

Our training will be delivered by properly qualified lecturers and instructors who have the qualifications as specified in MSN 03/2022 issued by the Director General of Merchant Shipping, Merchant Shipping Secretariat, Sri Lanka.

Entry Requirements

Seafarer who has completed the four Basic safety courses, under STCW Regulation VI/1 and section A-VI/1 and holds as a minimum a certificate of Proficiency as Watchkeeping rating or a Certificate of Competency as an Officer on Watch.
Hold certificate of proficiency for Basic Training for ships using Fuels covered within the IGF Code.
Shall have a valid medical fitness in accordance with schedule II of the Merchant Shipping Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers, as amended.
