9-Day Skipper Training Program (For New License Applicants)

SMTI, on behalf of DFAR, delivers a comprehensive 9-day Skipper Training Program aimed at individuals aspiring to obtain their Skipper’s License for the first time. This structured course covers essential knowledge and skills including coastal navigation, boat handling, safety and survival at sea, engine troubleshooting, legal responsibilities, and radio communication. The program combines classroom instruction with practical sessions to prepare candidates for safe and competent vessel operation in Sri Lankan waters. Upon successful completion and assessment, participants are eligible to apply for the official Skipper’s License issued by DFAR.
