The aim in this course is to provide training to candidates to be duly qualified under section A-V/1-1 of the STCW Code with specific duties and responsibilities related to cargo or cargo equipment on oil or chemical tankers. It comprises a basic training programme appropriate to their duties, including basic training for oil and chemical tanker safety, fire safety measures, pollution prevention, operational practice and obligations under applicable law and regulations. The course covers the competence requirements as given in the table A-V/1-1-1 of the STCW Code adopted by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978 as amended.
During the course, there will be:
Maximum 24 students per course.
Our training will be delivered by properly qualified lecturers and instructors who have the qualifications as specified in MSN 03/2022 issued by the Director General of Merchant Shipping, Merchant Shipping Secretariat, Sri Lanka.
This course is open to Officers and Ratings assigned specific duties and responsibilities related to cargo or cargo equipment on oil or chemical tankers as specified in section A-V/1-1 paragraph 1 of the STCW Code.
Every seafarer for a Certificate of Proficiency in Advanced Training for Oil Tanker Cargo Operations shall have a valid medical fitness in accordance with schedule II of the Merchant Shipping Standards of training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers regulations 2016, as amended.
